Electric vehicle tracking

Battery, charging and range on the same map as the rest of your fleet

Request a quote

An electric vehicle in the fleet changes the questions a dispatcher asks. With a diesel, the question is where the vehicle is and how much it used. With an electric vehicle it is how much battery is left, whether it will reach the destination, and where and when it charges. A tracking system that cannot see that leaves the most important piece of data off the screen.

PratiMe tracks electric vehicles from well-known manufacturers such as Tesla, BYD and others, depending on the model and the data the vehicle provides. Alongside standard GPS tracking you see battery charge level, charging status, remaining range and energy consumption, and electric and conventional vehicles are managed in the same account, with the same reports.

What you see for an electric vehicle

Electric vehicles on the map in the tracking platform
  • Battery charge level as a percentage, for each vehicle, live and in history.
  • Charging status: whether the vehicle is plugged in and whether it is charging.
  • Remaining range, as the vehicle itself estimates it.
  • Energy consumption per vehicle and per period, instead of liters.
  • Everything that applies to conventional vehicles too: location, movement history, speed, driving style and working hours.

Exactly which data is available depends on the manufacturer and model. For the vehicles you have or plan to buy, send us the models and we will check what is available before installation.

An alarm before the battery runs too low

The most expensive moment with an electric vehicle is when it stops with an empty battery far from a charger. That is why an alarm is set for when the battery level drops below a chosen percentage, for example 20 percent, and the notification reaches the dispatcher in the app, by email or by SMS. Charging is then organized in time, while the vehicle still has the range to reach a charger, not when it is already too late.

The same mechanism drives the other alarms you know from conventional vehicles: entering and leaving a zone, speeding, driving outside working hours.

Few fleets switch to electric all at once. More often it is a few electric delivery vans in the city alongside diesel trucks on long routes. PratiMe manages them in the same platform: the same map, the same reports on movement, mileage and driving style, the same alarms. The only difference is that consumption is recorded in liters for some vehicles and in kilowatt-hours for others.

That also makes the decision about further electrification easier: when electric and conventional vehicles are compared on the same routes and the same tasks, you can see where an electric vehicle makes sense and where it does not yet.

Who benefits most from electric vehicle tracking

How to get started

Send us the models of the vehicles you have or plan to buy. We will check which data is available for each model, suggest what makes sense to track, and install the system, and then you test it for 15 days on your own vehicles with no obligation. What the monthly subscription includes is on the GPS vehicle tracking pricing page.

Frequently asked questions about electric vehicle tracking

Which electric vehicles can be tracked?

Vehicles from well-known manufacturers such as Tesla, BYD and others, depending on the model and the data the vehicle provides. For specific models we check data availability before installation.

Can I see the battery level and remaining range?

Yes. Battery charge level, charging status and remaining range are visible live, with history, on a computer and in the mobile app.

Can I get an alarm when the battery runs too low?

Yes. An alarm is set for a battery level below a chosen percentage, and the notification arrives in the app, by email or by SMS, so charging is organized in time.

Is energy consumption tracked as well?

Yes. Consumption is recorded per vehicle and per period, in kilowatt-hours, just as it is recorded in liters for conventional vehicles.

Can electric and diesel vehicles be in the same account?

Yes. They are managed in the same platform, with the same map, the same reports and alarms, so the whole fleet is tracked in one place.
