Learn moreWhy truck navigation is not the same as car navigation
Regular navigation on a phone routes you the fastest way for a car. A truck has height, width, mass and axle load, so the fastest route is often neither permitted nor passable. That is why transport uses navigation that takes these factors into account.
Routes tailored to the vehicle
GPS navigation for trucks calculates the route based on the vehicle's characteristics and avoids bridges, tunnels and roads the vehicle is not allowed to use. This avoids backtracking, delays and fines.
Instructions sent straight to the vehicle
Garmin devices let the dispatcher send a route and task directly to the screen in the cab, instead of by phone. The driver gets a clear instruction, and the system keeps a record of what was sent and when.
Communication without phone calls
Two-way communication reduces the number of calls made while driving. Messages are exchanged in writing, stay on record and can be read when it is safe to do so, which is both more practical and safer.
Planning before departure
Route planning and GIS & geolocation are used before the vehicle sets off - for delivery order, defining zones and estimating arrival times.
What good navigation gets you
- Fewer kilometers driven - a shorter route means less fuel used and less wear.
- More realistic deadlines - arrival estimates based on the vehicle and traffic, not on the dispatcher's guess.
- Fewer mistakes in the field - the driver has the task and route on screen, without verbal instructions.
- Compliance with restrictions - a route that respects the vehicle's dimensions and mass.
- Fitting within working hours - planning using tachograph data on remaining driving time.
Frequently asked questions about navigation
Is a special device needed in the vehicle?
To send routes and tasks directly to the driver, a device with a screen in the cab is needed. Basic tracking and planning work even without it, but then the driver receives instructions another way.
Does navigation work outside Serbia?
Yes. The system works across all of Europe, so routes are planned and tracked on international routes too, with a record of the HU-GO toll through Hungary.
Can the route be changed while the vehicle is on the road?
Yes. A new route or task can be sent to the driver while driving, which is useful for urgent deliveries and plan changes.
How much does navigation cost?
Navigation and communication are modules on top of basic GPS tracking, which starts from 8 € per vehicle per month. You can test the system free for 15 days - see the pricing details.
