Real-time fleet management is becoming more important as the need for fast and accurate information grows. The PratiMe system gives you detailed oversight of every vehicle in your fleet, with data available at any moment. This data includes GPS location, speed information, fuel consumption, idle time, sensor status and much more. Real-time monitoring enables more efficient planning, faster decisions and improved business operations.

Real-time vehicle location tracking
- Real-time insight into the vehicle's current route.
- Fast response to unplanned route changes.
- Improved operational planning and route optimization.
One of the core features of the PratiMe system is tracking the vehicle's current location via GPS. This feature lets managers follow vehicle routes, check whether vehicles are moving along the planned path, and react if they deviate. Whether it is a delivery van or a heavy truck, the system lets you view all current locations on an interactive map.
Speed and driver behavior data
Besides location tracking, the PratiMe system provides data on the vehicle's speed and driver behavior. This information is key to monitoring compliance with traffic regulations and identifying potential driving risks. The system logs speeding, harsh braking, harsh acceleration and idle time, giving managers a complete picture of each driver's driving style.
Key features include:
-
Detection of speeding and harsh maneuvers
-
Increased safety through driver behavior monitoring
-
Optimizing driving habits to cut costs and improve safety
Fuel and sensor status monitoring
Fleet efficiency depends heavily on controlling fuel consumption. The PratiMe system enables real-time fuel consumption tracking, with precise data on refueling and tank levels. The system also uses data from fuel level sensors, making it possible to detect potential theft or irregularities in consumption.
Besides fuel, the PratiMe system also tracks data from other sensors, such as temperature sensors, tachographs and other telemetry devices. This data enables detailed control over the vehicle and helps prevent potential faults or risks.
Key benefits include:
Movement history analysis and route optimization
One of the important features of a vehicle tracking system is the ability to analyze the vehicle's movement history. This feature lets managers review all routes traveled, time spent driving and resting, as well as information about vehicle stops. Based on this data it is possible to identify the most efficient routes and optimize business processes.
The benefits of movement history analysis include:

How real-time vehicle monitoring works
The system consists of three parts: the device installed in the vehicle, the mobile network that carries the data, and the platform where you view that data. Understanding this chain makes it easier to work out what you actually need in the vehicle.
The device in the vehicle
The GPS device is installed in the vehicle and uses the satellite signal to determine its exact position, speed and direction of travel. At the same time, the device tracks the vehicle's status - whether the ignition is on, how long the vehicle has been idle and when it started moving. Fuel level sensors, temperature sensors or a CAN bus adapter can be connected to the same device as needed, to read data directly from the vehicle's electronics.
Data transmission
The collected data is sent to the server over the mobile network at regular intervals. If the vehicle enters a tunnel, an underground garage or a zone with no signal, the device temporarily stores the data in its internal memory and forwards it as soon as the connection is restored. That is why there are no gaps in the movement history, even when the vehicle was out of range for a while.
Display and analysis
Data is displayed on an interactive map in the web application and on your mobile phone. Besides the current status, movement history is also available, along with automatic reports and alarms that notify you of events without having to watch the map constantly.
What data you see for each vehicle
Real-time monitoring is not just a dot on the map. For every vehicle in the fleet, a set of data is available that together gives a full picture of what is happening with the vehicle.
- Current location and speed - position on the map, direction of travel and current vehicle speed.
- Vehicle status - whether the engine is running, whether the vehicle is stationary and how long it has been idle.
- Distance traveled - per vehicle, per day or for a selected period.
- Driving time and breaks - the basis for working-time control and for automatic trip orders.
- Driving style - speeding, harsh braking and acceleration, useful for eco-driving and reducing consumption.
- Sensor data - fuel level, cargo area temperature, door opening and other parameters, depending on the equipment installed.
- Zones and geolocation - entering and leaving defined zones such as the depot, a construction site or a client location (GIS & geolocation).
Who benefits most from real-time monitoring
The same features solve different problems for different industries. In practice, real-time monitoring is most commonly used in the following cases:
- Distribution and delivery - the dispatcher always knows where the vehicle is and can give the customer a realistic arrival estimate instead of a rough one. (distribution solutions)
- Transport and freight forwarding - tracking vehicles on longer routes, controlling fuel consumption and planning around driver working time. (commercial vehicle tracking)
- Construction - insight into how much heavy machinery actually worked, not just how long it was on site.
- Agriculture - monitoring tractors and attached machinery by plot and by hours worked.
- Taxi and passenger transport - dispatching the nearest vehicle and keeping trip records. (taxi vehicle tracking)
- Cold chain - simultaneous tracking of location and cargo area temperature. (refrigeration units)
Frequently asked questions about real-time vehicle monitoring
What happens when a vehicle loses signal?
The device keeps logging data and stores it in memory. As soon as the connection to the mobile network is restored, the data is sent to the server and fills in the movement history. A brief pass through a tunnel or a stay in an underground garage therefore does not leave a gap in the reports.
Can I track vehicles from my phone?
Yes. Besides the web application, the system is also available on your mobile phone, so you can check a vehicle's location and status from anywhere, without needing to be at a computer.
Is special equipment needed in the vehicle?
For basic location tracking, a GPS device installed in the vehicle is enough. Additional features - fuel control, temperature, driver identification or reading data from the vehicle's electronics - require the appropriate sensors or adapters, chosen based on what you actually need.
Does monitoring work for a mixed fleet?
Yes. Passenger cars, commercial vehicles, heavy machinery and attached equipment can all be tracked in the same platform. For each type of vehicle, the parameters that make sense for it are tracked, so you can see your entire fleet in a single view.
Does the system work outside Serbia?
Yes. Standard packages cover Serbia, the EU countries, the United Kingdom, the Scandinavian countries and Russia, with no extra setup and no special equipment needed abroad, and separate packages can be set up for other markets. A vehicle is tracked the same way on domestic and international routes, so companies driving into the EU get the same insight the whole way. Combined with data from the tachograph and HU-GO Hungarian toll records, international transport stays under control from departure to return.
How much does real-time vehicle monitoring cost?
The price starts from 8 € per vehicle per month and depends on the number of vehicles and the modules chosen. You can test the system free for 15 days - see the pricing details or call us for a quote tailored to your fleet.
Can I share a vehicle's location with a customer?
Yes. In the mobile app you create a tracking link and send it to the customer or partner, who follows the vehicle without access to your account.
Do I get a notification when something important happens with a vehicle?
Yes. Alarms are set for entering or leaving a zone, speeding, idling too long, loss of power and other events, and they arrive in the app, by email or by SMS.
