A company car is the vehicle that most often stays with the employee after working hours, and every bill for it lands on the company: fuel, mileage, fines, damage. Without data, all that is left at the end of the month is trust and a spreadsheet someone fills in from memory.
PratiMe tracks company passenger cars, from a single vehicle to fleets of several hundred: live location, who is driving, business and private trips kept separate, fuel and mileage read from the vehicle, trip sheets generated from the data and theft protection. It works in Serbia and across Europe. If you are looking for a simple tracker for a private car, this is not that page: the system is built for companies, but it starts with one vehicle.
What you see for every company car
- Live location and trip history: where the vehicle is now, where it has been, how long it stood at which address.
- Who is driving: when several people use the same car, driver login records who was at the wheel.
- Business or private trip: the driver switches the mode, and mileage and consumption are recorded separately.
- Mileage and fuel from the vehicle: the odometer reading and consumption are read from the CAN bus, so refuellings can be compared with receipts.
- Speed and driving style: speeding, harsh braking and acceleration, a score per driver through eco-driving.
- Alarms: driving outside working hours, leaving a zone, power cut, speed.
All of it on a computer and in the mobile app, for one vehicle or the whole fleet at once.
Business and private trips kept separate
For vehicles that stay with employees after working hours, the line between business and private driving has to be clear, for the company and for the employee. The driver marks a private trip by switching the mode, and the system records mileage and fuel consumption separately by mode, by driver and by vehicle.
At the end of the month you have the basis for payroll and expense calculations without manual bookkeeping: how many kilometres were business, how many private, how much fuel goes to which mode. The rules for using a company car are still set by your internal policy; the system just makes them verifiable.
Trip sheets and mileage without retyping
For passenger vehicles of public bodies, institutions and associations the trip sheet (putni nalog) is a legal requirement in Serbia, and many companies keep one even when it is not, for accounting and fuel justification. Mileage, route and departure and arrival times already exist in the system, so the trip sheet is filled in from that data, not from memory at the end of the month.
Which vehicles need one, what it must contain and what the fines are is explained in trip order: which vehicles require one, where a free template is available for download.
Protection against theft and misuse
The device is hidden and connected to the vehicle's power supply. If the car starts outside working hours, leaves the permitted zone or someone tries to disconnect the device, an alarm arrives immediately with the exact location, which you can pass on to the police. A backup battery in the device keeps reporting the position even when the power is cut.
The same alarms catch the quieter misuse too: weekend trips, drives out of town, speeding that ends in a fine in the company's name. More on the vehicle theft protection page.
Reservations, servicing and registration
When several employees share a few cars, vehicle reservations replace the notebook at reception: who took which vehicle, from when until when and at what mileage. The service book keeps servicing, registration, insurance and tyres per vehicle and warns before a deadline expires.
A driving style score per driver shows who wears out tyres, brakes and fuel faster than the rest, so the conversation is based on data rather than impressions.
Who company car tracking is for
- Companies with sales reps and field teams, where the car is the workplace. See solutions for field teams.
- Public enterprises, institutions and government bodies, for which the trip sheet for passenger vehicles is a legal requirement.
- Rent-a-car agencies, with rent-a-car solutions, and taxi associations, with taxi vehicle tracking.
- Driving schools, with driving school tracking.
- Companies with one or two company cars, because the system starts with a single vehicle at the same price per vehicle.
How to get started
Tell us how many cars you have and what matters most: mileage, business and private trips, fuel or protection. Installation takes between half an hour and an hour per vehicle, at your location, with no work on the engine and no visible traces in the cabin, and then you test the system for 15 days on your own vehicles, with no obligation. What the monthly subscription includes is described on the GPS tracking pricing page.
Frequently asked questions about company car GPS tracking
Can I track just one car?
Yes. The system starts with a single vehicle, at the same price per vehicle as for a larger fleet, and grows as you add cars.
How are business and private trips separated?
The driver marks a private trip by switching the mode, and the system records mileage and fuel consumption separately by mode, by driver and by vehicle. At the end of the month the report gives the basis for calculations without manual bookkeeping.
Can I see who is driving when several people use the same car?
Yes. With driver login every departure is tied to a specific driver, so mileage, driving style and any fines are attributed to the right person.
Does the employee have to know the vehicle is tracked?
Tracking a company vehicle is usually governed by an internal policy and by informing employees about what is tracked and why. We recommend settling that before installation; the private trip mode helps keep private mileage separate from business mileage.
Is the device visible in the cabin, and does it drain the battery?
The device is installed out of sight and connected to the vehicle's power supply, with no visible traces in the cabin. When the vehicle is parked it switches to a low-power mode, and a backup battery reports the position even if the power is cut.
Does company car GPS tracking work abroad?
Yes. The SIM card in the device roams, so the car is tracked exactly as it is in Serbia. Standard packages cover Serbia, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the Scandinavian countries and Russia, and separate packages are arranged for other markets.
How much does company car GPS tracking cost?
Basic GPS tracking starts at 8 € per vehicle per month, and modules such as driver login or CAN data are added as needed. You can test the system free for 15 days on your own cars. What the subscription includes is described on the GPS tracking pricing page.
